Tour Description:

We started rafting the Hvítá River (pronounced Kveetau) almost 25 years ago and since those early days it has been the most popular adventure activity in Iceland. The Hvítá river is a beautiful and fun river a little more than one hour from Reykjavík. The river has a perfectly balanced mix of serene canyons and adrenaline pumping waves and rapids. On our way we pass through the magnificent Brúarhlöð canyon and in that stunning setting participants have the option of jumping from a cliff into the river.  Who can resist going glacier river swimming in Iceland?

No one should leave Iceland without experiencing the power that its rivers contain and lay eyes on the scenic canyons of Hvítá river...not to mention relaxing in our sauna or hot-tubs after a day of adventure!

We raft a seven kilometer stretch of the river and in the famous Brúarhlöð canyon the rafters get to jump from a cliff into the river.

The morning tour includes a lunch buffett after the river rafting.
The afternoon tour includes a BBQ lamb steak dinner after the rafting at Drumbo (2015 season only).

Sometimes I thougth I`m on the moon. So I had a greate time. What I didn`t like was a travel to the river. It took sooooooo long.

I had a great time on this adventure and other than freezing to death, loved the experience. I had never done something like this before and found the rapids exhilarating. I wished there were more! Our raft guide was skilled and friendly. At 61 I think I'm too old for the cliff jump but it was fun to watch others risking life and limb. I didn't envy their chattering teeth and blue lips one bit! I would highly recommend this trip.

It was a very nice tour with good guides and we were really well taken care of. The only thing was that the water wasn't that "hard" so we felt a bit disapointed since we wanted more adrenaline and hard river rafting. But over all a good tour and very well organized tourguides.

This was fun, but to be perfectly honest I was a little bit disappointed that it was so easy. I was hoping for something pretty wild but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Part from jumping the cliff - that was scary :)
