Tour description

This combination of tours AH229 The Blue Lagoon and AH11 Golden Circle Express is recommended for those who don’t have much time but still want to make the most of their day.

We visit the Blue Lagoon, a unique geothermal spa situated in a lava field south of Reykjavík. Once there you have many recreational options such as walking in the Blue Lagoon’s spectacular surroundings or bathing in the milky blue-green water.

At 12:00 we continue back to Reykjavík to join our Golden Circle Express tour, which leaves Reykjavík at 13:00. We start by visiting Þingvellir, a geologically remarkable place where the Icelandic parliament Alþingi was founded in the year 930 AD. The site was used for Parliament gatherings up until the 20th century, and the area is renowned for its historical significance and geological wonders.

We continue on to  the majestic and beautiful Gullfoss glacial waterfall and onwards to the incredible spouting hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur. We travel over the mountain heath Hellisheiði back to the capital.

Please note:  Visitor pass or entrance fee to the Blue Lagoon is included in the tour price and two types of entrance fee packages (standard or comfort) can be bought when you have pressed the “Book” button.

The Blue Lagoon bathing fee standard package includes:
Visitor Pass and entrance to The Blue Lagoon.

We visited Reykjavic January 3-8th 2014', and took three tours with Graylines. The one tour was to see the Northern Lights, which the Aurora failed to materialize on two evenings, a tour to The blue Lagoon, Vic and the black beaches which was marvelous, and another to see the geysers, (the golden tour)etc. We found Graylines to be punctual, and the guides very competent and friendly. We would highly recommend this tour group for your trip to Iceland. They had no control, clearly over the Aurora Borealis, so that is a risk you take to see it. They do allow you to try another bus trip complimentary if you so desire.

The tour was FANTASTIC!!! The narrator was exceptionally good. Her English was impeccable, she spoke clearly and loud enough for everyone to hear. We loved the itinerary. There are only two things that I can think of that could be improved, we sat in the rear of the bus and it was a very stormy day. It was cold in the back where we were sitting. My sister-in-law who is always too warm was even cold. The other thing is it would be nice if we could pre-book our entrance fees, towels, robes, etc for the Blue Lagoon so that we wouldn't have to stand in line to do so. It took at least 30-40 min of our limited time in the water. We would have liked to have had more time there.

We had limited time in Iceland and decided to take the Blue Lagoon & Golden Circle tour. This was a very good decision. Bothe the morning at the Blue Lagoon and the afternoon on the Golden Circle Tour were fantastic. The guide on the tour was personable, well informed and anxious to address any questions asked by the group. The weather was raining all day but she stuck with us walking in the rain and kept the tourists outlook positive and instilled excitement. I would highly recommend this tour to any one. The rift zone is a must see if you are in Iceland but then again I am a geologist. The morning at the Blue Lagoon couldn't have been more relaxing and invigorating.

The morning at the Blue Lagoon was fantastic, with plenty of time to check in, enjoy the experience, get dressed and relax before boarding the bus again. The afternoon sights were amazing, and the tour guide was one of the best I've ever met for such a tour! A great balance of driving and time to enjoy the stops. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland for the first time!!
